Sitting on a chair and stretch the left arm towards the ceiling

Sitting shoulder stretch. In this exercise sit on a chair, feet flat on the floor, shoulders soft and neck long. Throughout the exercise keep looking forwards, stretch the left arm towards the ceiling, then take the arm back so that it moves just past your ear, gently bring the arm back to the starting position, repeat 3 times. On the 4th time allow the arm to stretch behind the body as if you are taking a book off the top shelf and gently return the arm back in front of the body to stretch up to the ceiling and repeat 5 times. Repeat on the right arm, stretch the arm towards the ceiling, then gently take the arm back just behind the right ear, and bring the arm to the starting position, and repeat 3 times. On the 4th time take the hand back as if you are taking a book of a shelf, and repeat 5 sets and relax. 

 Breathe out as you take the arm back just past the ear, breathe in as you bring the arm back and repeat 3 times, on the 4th time, breathe out and take the arm back as if you are taking a book of a shelf. 

Breathe in and bring the arm forwards in front of the body, repeat 5 times. Stretch the right arm towards the ceiling, breathe out as you take the arm back just past the ear, breathe in as you bring the arm back and repeat 3 times, on the 4th time breathe out and take the arm back as if you are taking a book of a shelf, breathe in and bring the arm forwards in front of the body, repeat 5 times.

 

 

 Care notes 

Keep the neck long and the chin tucked in. 

Keep the shoulders soft through out the exercise. 

Keep the hands relaxed. 

Keep the feet flat on the floor. 

Make sure that you can feel the balls of the feet and the heel on the floor throughout the movement. 

Feel the stretch throughout the exercise. 

Draw the navel towards the spine.

STOP IF YOUR BACK OR NECK HURTS YOU AT ANY TIME .
